Lion of Judah
Curator's Note
“Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals.” Revelation 5:5
This piece is a visual exploration of the ultimate triumph of Jesus Christ. By merging the face of the suffering Savior with the majesty of the Lion, the artwork captures the moment where sacrifice meets sovereignty.
The crown of thorns on one side transitions into a vibrant, fiery mane on the other, illustrating that the very King who was led like a lamb to the slaughter is the same King who reigns with unmatchable power. The use of high-contrast colors and gold leaf accents represents the “Glory of the Root of David,” a beauty that is both ancient and ever-new.
The Lion of Judah doesn’t just enter the room; He shifts the atmosphere. He is the one who was worthy to take the scroll, the one who breaks every seal, and the one who ultimately sets our hearts free.
